Everyone has a story that brought them to the Beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. Ours began in 1995, with the purchase of a little restaurant now widely known as The Los Olivos Cafe. From the beginning, we have recognized the importance of supporting our local farmers. Our wine friendly cuisine showcases the flavors that abound from the Valley's that surround us. In continuing the pursuit of a dream, the vines that grace the view of the Vineyard Retreat, were planted. In fact, a bottle of the CCOF Organic, Bernat Estate Wine awaits your arrival. In 2001, the Wine Merchant was added to the Cafe, which serves as a tasting room for our Bernat Family Wines and other fine selections. The friendly and knowledgeable staff helps guests navigate the selection of over 400 California and Central Coast Wines. The Wine Merchant's "wall of wine" brought fame to our restaurant as it was the backdrop in the pivotal scene of the Academy Award winning movie, Sideways.
Serving food, making wine, sharing our sweet town, welcoming guests to our unique Retreat, we feel our Wine Country Life is all the richer when shared.
